An Ellwood City Police Officer is taking personal days following an incident at the Ellwood City Sheetz on Friday, June 6. In a video that has seemingly gone “viral” on Facebook, YouTube, and Reddit, borough police Sgt. Robert Magnifico is shown pushing an unidentified person, who was yelling at Magnifico. 2025 Primary Election Unofficial Results: Ellwood City Borough Council; Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors

Unofficial results from yesterday’s May 20, 2025 primary have been posted. Lawrence County According to Lawrence County’s website, there were 15,258 ballots cast in Lawrence County. Of those, 6,938 were Democratic and 8,320 were Republican. The total voter turnout was 26.69% with 34.77% being Democratic and 27.81% being Republican. Click here for full unofficial results. ECASD Board of Directors Vote on Personnel Matters for Summer, 2025-2026 School Year

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors approved numerous matters regarding personnel for summer employment and programs and also for the 2025-2026 school year during their May meeting. They accepted the resignation and release agreement of employee #1727 effective April 25, 2025. The board would not release the name of the employee. District Superintendent Wesley Shipley said the district is unable to announce a name.
