Municipal Woman’s Club to Host Murder Mystery Dinner

It’s dinner to die for … The Municipal Woman’s Club is pleased to present The Death of Dr. Frankenstein, a murder/mystery dinner performed by Musical Mysteries & More. The event will benefit the Municipal Woman’s Club Scholarship Fund and will be held on October 20 at Shakespeare’s. Doors open at 6:15. The cost is $50 per person and includes a sit-down dinner and the mystery dinner theatre performance. According to organizer Phyllis Conway, the event has been a great success in the past. Last Wander Ellwood of Season Set For Wednesday

Don’t forget about the last Wander Ellwood event of the year Wednesday, October 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will feature music by Chad Goldbach 5 to 7, vendors on the streets, and local businesses that will be open a little later than normal and offering specials. In addition, open containers will be allowed on the streets during the event. Borough Council Welcomes Jr. Councilperson; to hire Borough Manager

Ellwood City Borough Council welcomed Jr. Councilperson Kaden Schlichtkrull during the regular meeting Monday night. Schlichtkrull, a senior at Lincoln High School, was administered the oathe of office by Mayor Anthony Court before joining council at the table. He’s also involved in cross country, track, tennis, student council, and plays the trumpet in the band. Schlichtkrull said he thought becoming a Jr. Councilperson would be a great addition to his advanced government studies. “I thought it would be a great way to learn,” he said. ECASD Board of Directors Approves Bids for the Perry School Project

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors voted to approve bids for the Perry School project with a total bid summary cost of $10,348,578.00—a cost which includes an asbestos package. Engineers from HHSDR and CJL Engineering presented the bids and options during Thursday’s regular meeting. Included in the project will be all new electrical, HVAC, plumbing, asbestos removal, a new roof, a four-classroom addition, a nurse suite addition, new flooring, painting, new windows, fixture upgrades, and other necessary construction to bring the 1933 building up to code. Morgan Gruber is moving to Nashville! But not before starring in one last show on Saturday, September 3, at Koehler Brewery, 130 Wampum Ave, Ellwood City—her Farewell Event. Council Promotes Ellwood City Police Officer to Sergeant

Ellwood City Borough Council voted Monday night to promote Ellwood City Police Officer Rob Magnifico to sergeant. Council had a choice to make in promoting one officer or two. Magnifico along with fellow Officer Matt Kennedy were the choices to fill the position. Councilman Caleb Cragle and Councilwoman Jan Williams voted to promote two officers but were met with opposition from the rest of council. Carpenter’s Project Completes 50 Projects On 34 Homes
