Rose Marie (DiMasi) Fox died peacefully August 30, 2024 at age 86, in Salt Lake City, UT. Rose was born in Ellwood City, PA, to Patsy and Jenny DiMasi on 4/26/1938. She attended Lincoln High School and in 1962, married Edward Fox, a “bad boy” who made her laugh. They had two children, Gregory and Christie, and moved the family to Florida in the late 1970s. In Florida, Rose worked at Operation PAR for more than 20 years and the PAR family quickly joined her family. Eventually she opened the Detox unit at PAR and made a difference in countless…

The Ellwood City Wolverines football team picked up a season opening victory on the road Friday night, edging Laurel 14-7 in overtime. Ellwood City may have earned a narrow victory, but Elijah Palmer-McCane made a huge mark in the record books. Borough Online Payment System Still Not Functioning

In a post made available Monday morning, the Borough of Ellwood City has reminded and notified its electric customers that their PayDici online payment portal is still not functioning. The borough advises that payments are to be made in person via check, mailing a check, or calling in to make payment by credit card over the phone. Riverside School District held its annual Panther Night Thursday evening at Riverside Memorial Stadium. The program included the introduction of the Panthers fall sports programs and the Riverside marching band. Across town, Ellwood City held its annual Pie Festival at Lincoln High School. The LHS marching band performed selections from their 2022 pre-game and halftime shows and all Ellwood City fall sports teams were recognized. CDC Lifts Mandate For Masking On School Transportation

Effective Friday, February 25, 2022, the CDC announced it does not require wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. Mrs. Rose Marie DeGennaro, 88, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Mrs. DeGennaro was born in Beaver Falls on July 2, 1933 to the late Carmello “Carl” and Lena (Pompanella) Rocco. She had attended the St. Mary’s Catholic School in Beaver Falls. Rose is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers. A home maker, Rose enjoyed cooking and baking. Former Lincoln High School graduate Taylor Petrak helped propel the Ohio State Buckeyes to a successful repeat of its Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championship crown last month. Petrak, a Ohio State University senior, is now one of 12 Buckeye women’s swimmers that have descended upon the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C., to compete at the 2021 NCAA Championships this weekend. Ellwood City was red hot from deep on Friday night, connecting on 11 3-pointers en route to its easy 71-33 victory over rival Riverside at Lincoln High School. Dunkin Donuts Opts Out Of Ellwood City Location

The long anticipated plans and hopes for a Dunkin Donuts at the corner of 5th Street and Spring Avenue have now been canceled. “There were too many assemblage issues with the parcels,” said Mr. Ed Jaten, spokesman for Heartland Restaurant Group (HRG).
