Linda L. Fox, 72, of Wayne Township passed away at UPMC Jameson Hospital ER on Saturday, August 28, 2021. Born in New Castle on November 28, 1948, Linda was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Herbert Miller.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Fox on May 8, 2008.  They were married on February 8, 1969.  Linda attended Harmony Baptist Church and was a member of the New Castle Elks Lodge #69. Kenneth M. “Skip” Brenner, Jr., 77, of Ellwood City, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at UPMC Jameson. Born in Ellwood City on June 1, 1944, Skip was the son of the late Kenneth and Kass Stanford Brenner.  He drove truck and he also ran the Agway on Zelienople Road.  A Veteran of the US Air Force, Skip served during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 157 and a former member of Mountville Presbyterian Church.  He could usually be found tinkering in his garage and he loved to ride motorcycles.  Skip also enjoyed…

David F. “Mitzi” Moritza, 65, passed away at Quality Life Services New Castle on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Born in Ellwood City on November 3, 1955, Mitzi was the son of the late David and Rose Genivia Moritza.  A 1973 graduate of Lincoln High School, he participated in the school’s initial wrestling program.  He also participated in many local arm-wrestling contests.  Mitzi retired as a custodian from the Seneca Valley School District.  A lifelong fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, he also loved the Baltimore Colts and Boston Celtics.  Mitzi played church league softball…

Glenn Taylor Koach, 97, passed away peacefully of old age on August 18th 2021. Glenn, the son of Roy W. and Edna Taylor Koach, was a lifelong resident of the Ellwood City area, being born and raised in Wurtemburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lincoln High School and soon after enlisted in the Army Air Corp flying more than 25 missions over Germany as a B-24 tail gunner.  At the war’s end he came home to Wurtemburg to work in his father’s grocery store.   At this same time Glenn took advantage of the GI Bill taking night classes to earn his bachelor’s…

Geraldine L. Burns, 89, formerly of Ellwood City, Beaver and Mesa, AZ, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 10, 1932, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Sidney and Dorothy Whittington Little.  Her husband, Donald Burns preceded her in death on January 30, 2010.  Geraldine retired from the State Attorney General’s Office in Pittsburgh where she worked as an administrative assistant.  She and her husband lived in Ellwood City for over thirty-five years and once they retired, they split their time between Western Pennsylvania and…

Patricia “Patty” James, 77, of Ellwood City, passed away in her residence on Monday, August 16, 2021. Born in Conway, PA on May 20, 1944, Patty was the daughter of the late Stephen and Josephine Crapis Ecimovic.  Patty was a florist, working at Jean’s Flower Shop on Fourth Street until it closed and later at Heart’s Desire on Lawrence Avenue.  She enjoyed taking trips to the casino and watching HGTV, especially episodes of Property Brothers.  Most of all, Patty loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wilbert S. Cover, Jr., 86, of Ellwood City, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Grove at New Castle. Born on May 25, 1935 in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, Wilbert was the son of the late Wilbert and Helen Adams Cover.  He retired from Townsend where he worked as a wire drawer.  Wilbert was a Veteran of the Unites State Marine Corps.  He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Carol A. “Flicka” Colaberardino, 80, of Ellwood City, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in Heritage Valley Beaver after a 10 year battle with multiple myeloma.
