Beaver County Man Admits Robbing PNC Bank in Cranberry Township

PITTSBURGH, PA – A resident of Patterson Township, (Beaver County) Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of bank robbery, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced on Wednesday. Michael Ryan Neppach, 40, pleaded guilty to one count before Senior United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer. In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that, on August 28, 2019, Neppach had robbed the PNC Bank at 20940 Route 19 in Cranberry Township of approximately $1,400. Connoquenessing Creek Nominated For PA River Of The Year – VOTE!

The Allegheny Aquatic Alliance needs your help! The Connoquenessing Creek was just nominated for Pennsylvania’s River of the Year! It is one of five nominations picked out of hundreds of submissions. Over time this local waterway had been neglected and abused leading to its rating as the 2nd most polluted waterway in America in 2000. Since then through Allegheny Aquatic Alliance and other organizations’ efforts, significant positive changes have been made to this creek and have resulted in the restoration of it. Bernstine to Host Job Fair, Toy Drive for Ellwood City Medical Center Employees

On Sunday, December 22nd Santa Claus will be proudly escorted by the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department to see all of the good girls in boys in the township. United Fund Update: Short of Fundraising Goal

The Ellwood City United Fund is still short of its fundraising goal, says Andrew Kindle, treasurer of the United Fund. The United Fund campaign started on October 1, 2019, Kindle reports that as of November 15, 2019 the total contributions received are $16, 900.00 which equates to about 30 percent below the goal set for this time period. The annual goal set by the board in October is for $50,000. The board hopes that the community will step up to the plate by giving contributions so the communities needs may be met. LHS Students Participate In BC3 Entrepreneurship Challenge

Students at Lincoln High School in Ellwood City recently participated in Butler County Community College’s Entrepreneurship Challenge, which drew students from nine high schools in six counties to BC3’s main campus in Butler Township. Anthony Spadafore, Ashton Wilson, Katelyn Wehman and Bryn Gray, accompanied by teacher Cindie Friello pitched a business plan called Foundation of Advancements in Youth Academics – which would focus on progressing student education – in the Entrepreneurship Challenge that took place earlier this month. ‘Kolędy Night’ Scheduled

A first-ever ‘Kolędy Night’ is planned for Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Polish Falcons Club in New Castle. The evening will feature area musicians playing traditional Polish and American Christmas carol sing-a-longs. Lyrics in both Polish and English will be provided for those attending.
