During February’s meeting of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society, the gathered 35 members and guests were treated to a presentation on some local history that began just after the end of the Civil War. Bernstine Announces State Grants for Fire, EMS Services in Butler, Lawrence Counties

Franklin Township has two volunteer openings on the Planning Commission Board. Interested applicants must be Township residents. The Planning Commission is an advisory board appointed by the Board of Supervisors to review zoning, subdivision, and land development matters. The Wurtemburg Perry Fire Department is preparing for their busiest time of the year. The firemen starting February 21 and February 22 will have their annual Gun Show. This will be the 42nd annual gun show and has been sponsored, since inception, by the Castlewood Rod and Gun Club. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award four (4) fifteen hundred dollar($1,500.00) scholarships this year. All graduating seniors living in the Ellwood City Area School District or the Riverside School District are eligible.
