The Leadership Lawrence County Class of 2026 will host its “Bags and Bangs Bingo Bash” on Saturday, May 16, 2026, to raise funds for Declyn’s Dream Playground, an inclusive play space being built at Shenango Community Park.
Each year, the Leadership Lawrence County Class selects a project that creates meaningful impact across the community. After thoughtful discussions and a class vote, this year’s class chose to support Declyn’s Dream Playground, a space designed to ensure children of all abilities have the opportunity to play together. The class will be raising funds specifically for the playground equipment.
The project was inspired by a powerful moment shared by Declyn’s family.
“Being a 5-year-old little girl, with her walker that is on wheels, she was stuck pacing the parking lot of the playground while she was watching all the other kids run around and play on the playground. That’s the moment we decided we had to make a change so that our daughter, and all children facing challenges similar to hers, would never be left out,” said Mandy Joseph, Declyn’s mother.
The Bags and Bangs Bingo Bash will bring the community together for an evening of entertainment, featuring bingo games with prizes including designer handbags from Michael Kors, Coach, and Kate Spade, as well as firearms such as pistols, handguns, and shotguns. Guests will also have additional chances to win through a basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, and side games.
This event will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the LCCAP Gymnasium (former YDC) on 1745 Frew Mill Road, Building 3C, New Castle, PA. Doors open at 5:00 PM and bingo games will start at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $75 per person and includes dinner, two beverages, and bingo cards. Additional cards, mini games, and raffle tickets will be available for purchase. This is a 21+ event.
Tickets are currently on sale and community members are encouraged to reserve their spot. In addition, sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals looking to support this impactful project.
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the development of Declyn’s Dream Playground at Shenango Community Park, helping to create a space where every child, regardless of ability, can play, connect, and belong.
Leadership Lawrence County is a program of Forward Lawrence, Chamber and Economic Alliance, designed to develop and connect emerging and established leaders across the county. The Class of 2026 includes representatives from organizations such as ELLWOOD, ELLWOOD Specialty Metals, Packer Thomas, UPMC, Westminster College, Hickory Run Energy, Glade Run Lutheran Services, and more.
In partnership with Westminster College, which provides a portion of the program’s instruction, participants gain insight into effective leadership while learning about the many resources that support Lawrence County, including those within nonprofit organizations, agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, and beyond. The program equips participants with the knowledge and connections needed to make a lasting impact in their community.
