PennDOT Recruitment Event Thursday for Winter Maintenance Program in Lawrence County

Pittsburgh – PennDOT District 11 is inviting the public to attend a recruitment event on Thursday, September 14 to learn about winter maintenance position opportunities the department offers in Lawrence County. The recruitment event will be held at PennDOT’s New Castle Maintenance Building located at 1800 New Wilmington Avenue, New Castle, PA 16105 from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 14. Brown Says Penalties Should be Imposed for Falsely Reporting Threats, Emergencies Toward Schools

HARRISBURG – Legislation that would create felony criminal penalties for falsely reporting emergency threats directed toward any educational facility in the Commonwealth has been introduced by Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence). “It is not acceptable to manipulate our law enforcement system to cause chaos, frighten students, terrorize families and put many people in harm’s way,” said Brown. Ellwood City Wolverines 2023 Fall Sports Tickets Now Available

Tickets for the Ellwood City Wolverines Fall Sport Season will be sold on-line at www.gofan.co or the GoFan app. Ellwood City will be slowly making the change to digital ticketing for all sports. There will be no tickets sold at the school at this time according to the district. There will be a limited amount of Adult tickets, $5.00, that can be purchased at the gate for each home game this season. Senior Citizen tickets will still be sold at the gate for $1.00. There will be no Student Tickets sold at the school or at the gate this season….


Annual Storytelling Festival Set For September 16th

Ellwood City’s 22nd Annual Storytelling Festival will be held Saturday September 16th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Folino Stage in Ewing Park. The show features four professional Storytellers: Janel Behm, Tim Hartman, Mike Perry, and Starla the Storyteller. Musicians, Sandi and Jerry Rectenwald will tell stories through their music! Wolves Club Hosts Picnic To Honor Riverside Baseball Team

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II met on Wednesday, August 9th at their Shelter in Ewing Park and honored the Riverside High School Baseball Team. A picnic was held to honor the accomplishments of the team who went undefeated in their regular season, competed and won in both the WPIAL Championship and the PIAA State Championship. The Panthers are the first WPIAL team to win a state baseball title with a perfect record. The Club recognizes area residents and school sports teams under their Pro Bono Publico Award.
