Monaca, Pa. – Nursing experts at PracticalNursing.org ranked the Community College of Beaver County Practical Nursing (PN) program the #1 Program in Pennsylvania in 2015. Lincoln Senior Cheerleaders Receive Awards

Members of the Lincoln High School Cheering Squads gathered for their annual banquet at Connoquenessing Country Club on Feb. 16. Property Tax/Rent Rebates Now Available in Senator Vogel’s District Offices

Applications are now available for the Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program and qualified individuals should file as soon as possible, according to Senator Elder Vogel, Jr. The maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for qualifying homeowners can boost rebates to $975. The program is open to state residents age 65 or older; widows and widowers age 50 or older; and, 100 percent disabled people 18 or older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters, with half of Social Security income excluded. The deadline for filing an application is July 1…


Leslie Sabo (Sims Street) Bridge Safety Inspection Operations

Bridge Safety Inspection operations on the Leslie Sabo (Sims Street) Bridge in the Borough of Ellwood City will begin on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016. The work will be completed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Traffic will be maintained through the work area but expect minor delays. It’s anticipated that the work will be completed by the end of the workday on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016.


Corona D’Italia Valentines Meeting

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 held their monthly meeting Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. at Pizza Joe’s. The session began with a pizza luncheon hosted by President Clemmy Sirimarco and served by trustee Pudue LaCava, member Jackie Court and sentinel Lois DiFrischia. The business session followed with financial reports presented by treasurer Louise Vitullo. She noted that 2016 yearly dues are payable by contacting her. Relay for Life Upcoming Events

The Circle of Friends Relay For Life team is hosting a Paint Party on Saturday, March 12 as a fundraiser for the next Women’s Retreat.
