Portersville Christian School Presents Back to the 80’s Musical

Portersville Christian School will present the musical “Back to the 80’s” on April 21-23 at 7 p.m. each day. The musical features 80’s hits such as “Kids in America,” “Walking on Sunshine,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and many more. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and free for 5 and under. Call 724-368-8787 for tickets. Back to the 80’s is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of 3-28-2016

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Tuesday, March 29, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. — “Family Laptime,” an interactive story time for babies as young as 6 months old as well as for toddlers and preschoolers. Two Ellwood Graduates Travel to Puerto Rico for Baseball

Two Lincoln High School graduates spent a week in Puerto Rico as part of the inaugural Clemente Cup baseball tournament. Matt Germanoski and Greg Lynn are 2012 Lincoln graduates who were on the 2012 Class AA WPIAL championship baseball team. Currently, they’re both seniors on the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg baseball team. The two went with their team and nine other college Division 3 baseball teams from the states. Through the program, they played games in Aguadilla, Anasco and Lajas. The two also met Luis Clemente, Roberto Clemente’s son. Ellwood City Drug Take Back Program

The Ellwood City Police Department is sponsoring a drug take back program on Saturday, April 30 at the Ellwood City Municipal Building. Residents may use the opportunity to turn in unused or expired medication for safe disposal. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Cortney Harden Joins RAYSL Training Staff

As Riverside Area Youth Soccer League grows, so too does it’s training staff. After adding Doug Miller to the Club in the Fall 2015 season, RAYSL recently added alum Cortney Harden as a Technical Trainer. “Bringing Cortney on is very exciting for us,” Club President Derek Zona said. “Over the past year, our Board has been focused on finding a skilled female trainer who can make a positive impact on the lives of the young ladies in the club, acting as both a mentor and a role model.” Harden’s immediate focus will be Riverside’s U12 and U14 girls’ teams. Corona D’Italia March Meeting Brief

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 officers and members observed St. Patrick’s Day at their monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 9 at 5 p.m. The session held at Pizza Joe’s began with an Irish Stew luncheon prepared by the staff and served by Trustee Pudue LaCava, Sentinel Lois DiFrischia and member Jackie Perno. Invocation was given by Trustee Patty Regna remembering all present and deceased lodge members and military personnel. Mary Fabian Receives Honor for 100th Birthday

Mary Fabian of Ellwood City received a commendation from Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court on her 100th birthday on March 5. Friends and loved ones gathered to celebrate the milestone with her at Vinny’s restaurant in Ellwood.
