Franklin Township’s Fourth Annual Community Days

Franklin Township’s Fourth Annual Community Days will be on Tue, Aug. 2 from 6 p.m., to 9 p.m. The event will be located at Franklin Plaza on State Route 288 and will feature music, food, and fun for the whole family.

Booths and Vendors will be set up to fundraiser for various organizations and causes. There are still spots available to set up a booth, if you are part of a local organization or a business that wants to show your support please contact Franklin Township Secretary, Shannon Schlosser at twpsecretary@zoominternet.net.

Local businesses have made donations to make the night possible. Free children’s activities include a bounce house, face painting, petting zoo, balloon twisting, and the Pirate Parrot. The event will also feature fire trucks, police vehicles, kitchen fire demonstrations and CPR training. Several door prizes will be given away that were donated from local businesses.

The event is part of a much bigger event known as National Night Out. National Night Out occurs on the first Tuesday of the month of August in communities in all 50 states and Canada. The event’s purpose to promote community relations by involving the Township Supervisors, Police Department, Fire Department, and the Township residents. This event originated in 1984 by National Association of Town Watch, a non-profit dedicated to the development and promotion of different crime prevention programs.
