Beaver County Teaming Up with United Way to Help Fight Hunger

Beaver, PA- The Beaver County Commissioner’s announced today that the County partnering with the United Way’s Scouting for Food Campaign. Area residents and employees can bring non-perishable items to the courthouse or any county satellite office during the month of April. Boxes and signage will be located at the front and back entrances of the courthouse, in the Commissioners’ Office, and at the entrances of the county satellite offices. There are currently 12 food banks in Beaver County that are run by the Salvation Army that feed approximately 4,000 people a month. All food donated will help those in need….

Gibbons Appointed Chairman of House Committee

HARRISBURG, April 7 – State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, will assume a new leadership role as the Democratic chairman of the House Tourism and Recreational Development Committee. Class of 1954 March Meeting

Pudue La Cava hosted the 1954 Lincoln Class “Life is a Beach” Committee at her Mt. Vernon Drive home at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. The session began with a luncheon observing St. Patrick’s Day, provided by La Cava, Pinky Maielli, Ann Amadio, Ilene Gardner, James Spielvogel, Jan Keenan, James Gillespie and Clemmy Sirimarco. Veterans Specialists to Visit Gibbons’ Office Next Week

State Rep. Jaret Gibbons today announced he will host two veterans specialists in his Ellwood City office next week. “I am happy to provide this service so veterans they can understand their rights and benefits,” Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, said. Stephanie Bengoa and Ryan Paglia will participate in the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 to lend help to veterans and their families. Come join us for breakfast at Ellwood Lodge #599 on 512 Crescent Avenue, Ellwood City. Join us for breakfast on April 9 and May 14 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The breakfasts will be held at the Ellwood Lodge Building on the 1st Floor. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children (up age 10) for all you can eat scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, pancakes, toast, orange juice and coffee. Proceeds from the breakfasts benefit the Masonic Hall Association and other community projects.
