Vietnam Veterans Honorary Pins Available at Senator Vogel’s Offices

Senator Elder Vogel Jr. encourages all veterans who served on active duty in the United States Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975 to visit his district offices to receive a special 50th Anniversary commemorative Vietnam Veterans’ lapel pin. Due to limited supply, only one commemorative pin will be available per veteran. Adult Season Tickets: Ellwood City Varsity Basketball

Adult Season Tickets, for Ellwood City Boys Varsity Basketball, will be on sale in the High School office. The cost is $20, and the tickets are good for all regular season home games (excludes Tip-Off Classic 12/9-12/10). Adult Season Tickets for Girls Varsity Basketball will be available at the gate of each home game, and the cost is also $20. All tickets at the door will be $5 for adults, $2 for students, and $1 for senior citizens. DEP Implements Vogel Legislation Suspending Costly Fuel Pump Regulation

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced today that effective November 12, 2016, it will no longer enforce the Stage II vapor recovery requirement for new or modified gasoline dispensing equipment. Senate Bill 1386, a measure introduced by Senator Elder Vogel Jr. and signed into law as Act 135 of 2012, eliminated the requirement that gas stations in the Pittsburgh region install Stage II vapor recovery systems on fuel pumps. Since 2000, all passenger cars and light trucks have been required to include onboard refueling emissions controls, rendering the costly Stage II vapor recovery systems on fuel pumps redundant….


United Fund achieves 38% of goal of $50,000.00

The Ellwood City United Fund annual campaign began Oct 1, 2016 with a set goal of $50,000.00 for the coming year of 2017. A get acquainted mixer was held on Oct 18, 2016 that was enjoyed by over 60 guest and service organizations. Andy Kindle, treasurer said, “the first 45 days of the campaign the donations have reached up to over 38% of the goal, funds collected to date total $19,905.00.” “We still have 45 days to receive donations and we are hopeful that the community will respond this year and be generous to help our neighbors and  friends in need,”…
