Shell Chemicals Awards Scholarships to 12 High-Performing CCBC Process Technology Students

Monaca, PA – Twelve students from Community College of Beaver County’s (CCBC) Process Technology program were named recipients of the 2017 Shell Two-Year Associate in Technology Scholarship, taking the first step towards a high caliber career in the petrochemicals industry. CCBC Appoints Coaches for New Women’s Basketball and Women’s and Men’s Cross Country Teams

Monaca, PA – With the goals of enriching the student life program and recruiting more local student-athletes, Community College of Beaver County has added three new sports that will commence in the 2017-18 academic year: women’s basketball, and women’s and men’s cross country. Two new coaches will join the athletics team and continue the tradition of developing successful student-athletes on and off the court. PPA Comparison: Nov. 2016 Through Feb. 2017 VS. Previous Year

The attached information is being provided in order to inform Ellwood City Electric customers of the effect the reduction in the Transmission and Capacity charges set by PJM has had upon the Rate Adjustment (PPA Factor) and customer billings during the months of November 2016 through the upcoming billing in February 2017. Comparisons of PPA components (Energy Purchased, American Municipal Power-Power Charges, as well as Transmission and Capacity Charges) were used. Ellwood City Hoops

After two successful summer seasons, the Ellwood City Basketball League is preparing for their third season – this time as a winter league. “We have some really good teams in the league, it’s competitive, but it’s also about having fun and hanging out with friends,” Matt Boffo, a coordinator for the organization stated. New Castle Sanitation Authority Receives $11 Million in State Financing

The New Castle Sanitation Authority was today (January 25) awarded an $11 million low-interest loan from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) to provide sewage service in Shenango Township, according to Senator Elder Vogel Jr. (R-47). The project involves the installation of more than 220,000 feet of service lines and several other major improvements to the current system. A sewage disposal needs survey in Shenango Township found that 69 percent of the on-lot disposal systems were malfunctioning. “This project will address serious contamination issues caused by the release of untreated or partially treated sewage into local waterways by malfunctioning systems…
