Bernstine Announces More Than $500,000 in Pre-K Counts Grants for Local Providers

ELLWOOD CITY – Making sure Pennsylvania children have the best possible start when entering school, two area Pre-K Counts providers who serve children in the 10th Legislative District will receive a combined $527,000 in state grants, announced Rep. The Ellwood City Women of the Moose Chapter 442 invite the community to their rummage sale event this Saturday to sell their items at a cost of $10.00 per table space. Troopers, BC3 Police Investigate After Private Cadaver Dogs’ Alert on Campus

Butler, PA- An investigation by state police at Butler and Butler County Community College campus police continued Tuesday morning in a wooded portion of BC3’s main campus in Butler Township, where private cadaver dogs last weekend reportedly alerted handlers when approaching a mound of construction debris. Investigators processed the scene, according to Scott Richardson, BC3’s director of campus police and security. There did not appear to be recent activity near the construction debris, Richardson said Monday. Wrap-up for the Four Day Bazaar

During the 51st Holy Redeemer four day annual Bazaar, monetary awards totaling $46,000 were awarded to ten lucky winners. The Bazaar concluded on a high note with the Summer-Cash Give-away marque award of $25,000. The awards are based on the PA Lottery evening first pick three- digit number drawn. The Lottery’s policy states that winners, if they allow their names to be publicized, will need to sign a lottery privacy clause release document. Mayor’s Advisory Meeting

On Thursday, Mayor Court held the Mayor’s Advisory Committee meeting at Nico’s Restaurant on Wampum Avenue. During the breakfast meeting the Mayor advised members who the six winners for the 2017 Beautification Awards were and that each was presented with an Award Sign and a gift certificate from one of our local restaurants. BC3 to Host OSHA Construction Standards, Trainer Courses

Butler, PA – Butler County Community College has entered into a host-site agreement with West Virginia University Safety and Health Extension to host Occupational Safety and Health Administration Training Institute Education Center courses on BC3’s main campus and at BC3 @ LindenPointe. An OSHA 510 Construction Standards course will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 5-8 on BC3’s main campus, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 10-13 at BC3 @ LindenPointe in Hermitage, according to Tom Baughman, BC3’s energy and safety specialist. CCBC Revives Gift of $150,000

BREAKING: Attempted Robbery at Lawrence Ave. Wesbanco

Ellwood City Police are requesting your help locating the attempted robbery suspect. The attempted robber entered the bank this afternoon at approximately 2:52pm and presented a note a the teller window before fleeing. The suspect is an African American Male, approximately 5’10”, mid 20’s, athletic build.  He was last seen leaving the bank on foot, wearing a blue t-shirt, jean shorts, high-top white socks, and a blue hat. BC3 Cultural Center: Free Concert, Free Ice Cream and Cool Art

(Butler, PA) The Cultural Center at Butler County Community College will provide Graeter’s Ice Cream free to those attending the Pittsburgh Philharmonic’s free performance Aug. 13, an overture that will give guests a taste of Succop Theater’s fall 2017 Performing Artists series.
