Pie Festival sponsored by the Rita S. Hazen Education Foundation

If data metrics can be measured with pieces of pie, approximatley 750 people showed up to watch the Lincoln High School Blue Band perform their 2018 pre-game and halftime perfromances last night at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park.  The band performed its traditional pregame set list consisting of the drumline’s cadence, the Lincoln High School alma mater, the “Star Spangled Banner”, and “Fanfare” – a tribute to our U.S. military.  The halftime show featured songs such as “Paint it Black”, “ Mr  Roboto”, and “Bad Romance”. Ellwood City’s Fall Fest & Car Cruise

Ellwood City, PA – Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Fall Fest & Car Cruise on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 11 am – 5 pm on Lawrence Avenue.  There will be food, vendors, family activities, a car cruise, and local entertainment. Bernstine Applauds Borough’s Changes to Ellwood City Electric

ELLWOOD CITY – Following months of negotiations and legislative intervention, Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today praised Ellwood City Borough Council for adopting changes to Ellwood City Electric, which he said will ensure consumer protection, price stability and increased transparency for residents. The actions came after Bernstine and Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47) issued a letter to council members last month urging immediate implementation of several consumer-based changes. Bernstine’s legislation requiring the borough to adopt changes passed the House in April and was awaiting consideration by the Senate. Ellwood City Code Officer Requests Bagster’s be Removed

The Borough of Ellwood City has received numerous complaints about the “Green Bagster/ Dumpsters.” Remember that you must have them removed after you fill them. You get the “Bagsters” at various locations for $29.99. Removal is about $145.00. You must have them removed as it constitutes a buildup of trash and you may be subject to legal action. The International Property Maintenance Code of 2012 covers this under three sections: 302.1 All exterior property must be maintained in a Clean-Safe-Sanitary condition. 302.5 Rodent Harborage. 308.1 Accumulation of Rubbish or Garbage. Stiefel Park Roller Hockey concluded their 2018 summer session Wednesday evening with three teams declaring victory in their respective divisions. Due to the number of teams this season, the league was able to create three divisions based on experience and competitiveness.  The A league housed four teams of experienced players both young and old. Age did not deter the high caliber game play during the season and playoffs this season. If you currently have a Handicapped Sign in front of your address, the Ellwood City Police Department needs you to renew/update your information. From Residents: Name, address, phone number, and a copy of your Placard number, Handicapped Card number or Handicapped License Plate information including the expiration date.
