James L. “Butch” Buchanan, 78, of Ellwood City passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his residence. Although in ill health, death was unexpected. Born November 25, 1944 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Wendell J. and Marjorie M. Knight Buchanan. He was married to Connie Powell Buchanan. Butch retired from the Koppel B&W after 40 years of service as a crane operator. He was a member of the Wayne Township Fire Department and the Chewton Polish White Eagles. A lifelong resident of Wayne Twp., Charles was born the eldest of nine children on February 19, 1935. He was born and raised and lived his entire life on the Johns farm. He was the son of the late Charles H and Sarah Elizabeth (Thompson) Johns Sr. He was married to Marilyn (Rice) Johns for 67 years as they were married October 22, 1955. Kenneth Wayne Wiley, 94, of Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospice. Born July 15, 1928 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Leslie Earl and Ethel Ida (Booher) Wiley. Ken attended Lincoln High School. Born June 23, 1932 in Morgantown, WV, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Florence Eicher Thompson. She was married to Charles E. McCrobie for 61 years when he passed away November 21, 2010.
