Daniel James Blank, 23, of Scott Twp passed away Monday, February 10, 2025. Born November 2, 2001 in Farrell, he was the son of Jacob R. and Nancy E. Blank. Daniel graduated from Laurel Jr/Sr High School with the class of 2020. He furthered his education at Westminster College where he earned his degree in Biology, and a minor in Business. He was a dedicated member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. A gifted athlete, Daniel excelled on the football and track and field teams at both the high school and collegiate levels. Dann S. Zelic, 85, of Chewton passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born November 21, 1939 in Wheeling, WV, he was the son of the late Mike and Eileen Hickman Zelic. He was married to Mary G. Jacquin Zelic. Dann first worked at Mike’s Bait Shop in Portersville, then B&W, and then he owned and operated Zelic’s Sewage and Drain. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and in his younger years hunting. Joan Snyder, 89, of West Pittsburg passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Haven Convalescent Nursing Home, New Castle, Pennsylvania. Born June 18, 1935 in West Pittsburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Mae Valentine Schultz. She married Thomas E. Snyder on June 20, 1959. Fred E. Bennett, 94, of Fombell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at his residence. Born May 1, 1930 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth Bender Bennett. A proud Army Veteran, Fred served from 1952-1954. He formerly owned F.E. Bennett excavating and retired from Herr-Voss in Rochester where he worked as a truck driver. After his retirement he worked in maintenance at Camp Kon-O-Kwee. Born December 30, 1973 in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Donald P. Frum Sr. and Sandra Shaner Kirkwood of Wampum. Robert Hartman, 83, of Wampum passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at his residence. Born May 29, 1941 in Freedom, he was the son of the late Lester and Althea Hartman. For many years Bob owned and operated Hartman Silkscreen in Wampum. Survivors include his son, Robert Hartman, II of Michigan and his daughter, Amy Hartman of Washington. John Robert “Bobby” Powell, 82, of New Beaver Borough passed away suddenly on Monday, January 20, 2025 as a result of an automobile accident. Bobby was born on December 18, 1942 in Ellwood City, to the late Frank A. and Helen V. (Butkevitz) Powell of Chewton. James C. Mora, 57, of Wampum passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at his residence following a courageous one-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Born January 20, 1968 in Ellwood City, he was the son of Ronald P. and Linda McKim Mora. James attended Lincoln High School and graduated from Vo-Tech in 1986.
