The month of November rings in the holiday season, hosting Thanksgiving and setting focus on the upcoming Christmas holiday, and for many in the area, November featured a new home. According to RocketHomes.com, the median selling price for real estate in November in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania was $152,442.00 – up 8.0% versus the same period last year. ‘Let There Be Lights’ Weekend Of Events Starts Friday

Kick off your Holiday’s with a series of events hosted by the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce. First, on Friday, downtown will light up with the lighting of the holiday tree in the Ellwood City Community plaza at 7:30 p.m. as part of Ellwood City’s Light Up Night. Live entertainment will take place from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the plaza and on Lawrence Avenue and fireworks will be set off behind the plaza after the tree lighting! Riverside Sweeps Tip-Off Tournament, Ellwood City Splits Two Games

The Thanksgiving holiday rings in the holiday season and points focus on a few things – Christmas, and high school basketball! The Riverside Panthers boys basketball team collected two victories in the Laurel Tip-Off Tournament over the weekend. Riverside knocked off Sharpsville 52-37 on Friday and then defeated Commodore Perry 63-31 on Saturday. In Friday’s victory, McCartney Plassmeyer and Logan Young each scored 17 points for Riverside. Ellwood City Golf Team Celebrates Season With Annual Banquet

Ellwood City Women’s Network hosted their 8th annual Girls Night Out on Wednesday, November 20th at Shakespeares Restaurant. The networking event featured craft vendors, a Chinese auction, and 50/50 and entertainment by Vaughn Hudspath and others. All proceeds are donated to The Divine Grace Ministerium Food Bank which helps all those in need throughout Ellwood City and beyond. Vehicle Stolen From West End Home, Police Searching For Suspect

On Friday, November 22nd at approximately 11:20 p.m. Ellwood City Police officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 1200 block of Lawrence Avenue. Upon further investigation it was determined that an unknown actor broke into a residence, took a set of keys to a vehicle then stole the vehicle crashing it into another vehicle then fleeing the scene on foot. Officers further located multiple other vehicles that seemed to be rummaged through in the area. Riverside Christmas Angel Drive Looking For Gift Card Donations This Holiday Season

The Riverside Christmas Angel Program is trying something new this year! The drive is looking for gift card donations in any denomination to help support the many local Riverside families in need. They can be gift cards for groceries, clothing, stores, restaurants, and anything in between.
