Plassmeyer Pours In 25 To Lead Riverside; Wolverines Split With Hopewell

McCartney Plassmeyer poured in a game high 25 points Monday evening to lead Riverside to a 59-44 victory over Western Beaver. The 6’1′ junior guard connected on two 3-pointers and posted 14 first half points as the Panthers jumped out to a 28-22 halftime advantage. Gabe Lilly started his wrestling season with an individual championship at the 25th annual Union Local Rick Link Invitational at Union Local High School in Ohio on Saturday. Lilly (165 pounds) defeated Jeston Showalte 10-6 in the semifinals who was the returning 3rd place state medalist as West Virginia state championships. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

PUBLIC REPRIMAND: An Ellwood City nail salon was fined and given a public reprimand by the Pennsylvania Department of State for what it called grossly incompetent actions. Nails Spa, located in the Northern Star shopping plaza on Route 288 in Franklin Township, was given a $6,600 civil penalty and ordered to stop possessing methyl methacrylate (MMA) and metal credo tools. MMA is a resin commonly used in artificial nail products, dentistry and the production of plastics. Credo tools are used to remove callused skin.
