Wampum American Legion Offering An All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast

The Wampum American Legion is starting it’s all-you-can-eat Breakfast event again on Saturday, February 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event is scheduled to take place at the Legion club located at 436 Beaver Street, Wampum, PA 16157. The menu features scrambled eggs, home fries, french toast, sausage, biscuits & gravy, bacon, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice. Costs for the breakfast are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children five years and younger. “We appreciate your continued support of the Wampum American Legion,” says Wampum Auxilary Post 749 President, Marsha Moore.

THEFT BY DECEPTION: On January 31st at approximately 3:17 p.m., PA State Police investigated a report of fraudulent bank activity. The 63-year-old female victim lives in Wayne Township, Lawrence County and claims that two bank transactions totaling $6,000.00 were made on her bank account with her permission. Pre-registration for Kindergarten in the Ellwood City Area School District for the 2023-24 school year is now available. All prospective parents of ECASD kindergarten students are asked to complete the following 2023-24 form if planning to enroll a child in kindergarten next fall. ECPD Provides Details On Homicide Investigation

In a press release made available the Ellwood City Police Department Tuesday morning, the ECPD provides details on the Monday afternoon shooting that left one person dead and one in critical condition. According to the release, and at approximately 5:18 p.m. on Monday, officers of the Ellwood City Police Department were dispatched to a shots fired call at 216 First Street. As Officers set up a perimeter around the apartment building they heard four to five gun shots. Officers ordered the shooter from the residence shortly thereafter via loud speaker. Lady Wolverines Complete Sweep Of Rival Panthers

Sophomore Caitlin Kreitzer scored a career high 18 points to lead the Lady Wolverines to a 52-33 road victory over Riverside on Monday evening. The victory capped a season sweep in the Riv-Ell series as Ellwood City earned a home victory earlier in January. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Jason Mulig, 47, of Ellwood City is charged with Criminal Mischief and Public Drunkeness after an incident on November 6, 2022. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 3:27 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the area of First Street, near Keystone Bar, due to Mulig jumping onto a victim’s car and damaging the hood. Upon reviewing surveillance, it showed Mulig walking from across Fountain Avenue and jumping onto the hood of the vehicle causing $2,388.13 in damage and then finished what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage and threw it into the side of the building….


EC Wrestling Team Finishes 12th Place, Shriver Takes 2nd In Mercer VFW Tournament

Sophomore Logan Shriver placed 2nd overall in his 107-pound weight class at the Mercer VFW Wrestling Tournament last week to help boost the Wolverines wrestling team to its 12th place overall finish. Shriver, a second year wrestler, secured a place in the championship match after he earned a 5-1 decision victory over Lexi Doerflinger (Slippery Rock) in the semifinals. Also earning a spot on a podium was sophomore Derek Allen, whom finished 3rd overall in the 114-pound weight class. Allen finished 3-1 in the tournament.
