PHOTOS: Wolverine offense struggles, Hopewell prevails

Points scored in football games is usually done by the offensive side of the ball.  For fans who love the up-tempo offense, quick scores, and plenty of scrimmage yards, Friday night’s game vs. Hopewell would have been an eyesore of drives that just didn’t finish. Between Hopewell and the Wolverines, over 100 plays were taken on the night.  However, the snaps only mounted to a game total of 431 offensive yards from both teams together.  With that being said, drama did occur late in the game. Panthers use defense, victorious against Laurel

Riverside Panthers used defense and a steady ground attack to get its first win of the young season Friday night at Laurel. The Panthers were aided by its defense forcing two turnovers, one a pick-6 interception, to stymie the Laurel offense in its 24-7 victory. Kyle Marweg recovered a fumble while Lance Fisher collected an interception and returned it for a touchdown for Riverside. Man Calls Police for Relationship Advice According to the police report, on Sept. 2, police were called to scene because a husband and wife were having a disagreement. The man told the responding officer that the disagreement started because his wife was talking to other guys on Facebook. The officer thoughtfully listened to both sides of the story and advised the couple to handle their relationship like adults, especially in front of their children. McConnells Mill Heritage Festival Sept. 24 and 25

History comes alive at the 24th Annual Heritage Festival at McConnells Mill State Park on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Festival, sponsored by the Portersville-Prospect Rotary, celebrates the operational time period of the historical gristmill—from 1852 to 1928. Police: Wampum Man Impersonates State Trooper

David Rowbotham, 40, of Wampum is facing charges of impersonating a public servant, criminal coercion, harassment by communication and a wiretap violation after he called a woman and pretended to be a state trooper. He is accused of threatening her and he telling her she had a burglary warrant for her arrest. Rowbotham recorded the calls without permission from the victim. According to the report, the victim and defendant were hardly acquaintances and the victim was likely targeted due to being loosely linked in a domestic dispute.
