Police: Narcan to the Rescue
Ellwood Resident Receives Narcan to Reverse Overdose According to the police report, on September 26, police and medics were called to an Ellwood residence after receiving a call from a concerned wife that her husband was unconscious and unresponsive due to a heroin overdose. Upon arrival, medics administered Narcan, a drug that reverses the affects of opiate overdoses almost immediately. Shortly after the dose, the man became responsive and told medics he had overdosed on heroin. A stamp bag and a small silver “tube-like” pipe was located in the individuals pocket. Updates: Water Treatment Plant
Pennsylvania American Water Company has been extremely cooperative and timely answering the questions we have asked them about the proposed water treatment plant: When is the new plant supposed to be installed? Construction is expected to start in early 2017 and the new treatment plant is expected to be in operation before the end of 2018. Where will the water be coming from? The new plant will be using the Connoquenessing Creek as its primary source of supply for the plant and the Beaver Run as a secondary source. Ellwood Resident Gets “Trumped” By Mysterious Caller According to the police report, on September 17, officers received a complaint that a resident had their “Hillary Clinton for President” sign taken down and replaced with a Donald Trump sign after being lured to a fake voter registration event. The victim said she had received a call from “Sean Jackson” on the 15th who claimed to be a Democratic committee member; the caller asked the victim if she could participate in a voter registration event to be held Saturday September 17. 37th Annual Lawrence County Marching Band Festival
Lincoln High School will be hosting the 37th annual Lawrence County Marching Band Festival on Wednesday September 21 at 7p.m., doors open at 5:30p.m. The following school bands will be participating in the event: Lincoln, Shenango, Mohawk, Union, Neshannock, Laurel, Wilmington, New Castle, and Westminster College; each band will be performing samples of their half time shows. Lincoln High School Blue Band Boosters will be selling concessions and having a bake sale. You can send candy grams for $3.00 or cookie grams for $2.00 to your favorite band member.
