VIDEOS: Candlelight Vigil & Memorial Highlight Honors Former Ellwood City Football Player

Past and present teammates from Bradley Grinnen’s football days carried his jersey through Helling Stadium in Ellwood City on Wednesday night. It’s the field the 21-year-old played on during high school. Visitation was held on Wednesday at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. with a mass of Christian burial held Thursday morning in the Holy Redeemer Church.  Memorial contributions in Bradley’s name may be made to his parents and will be used to establish a scholarship in his name. Ellwood City Man Facing Child Pornography Charges

A local Ellwood City man pleaded guilty yesterday to distributing sadistic child pornography on a peer-to-peer network from a computer at his house, where he lived with his parents. Lucas Klobetanz, 40, was state-investigated and charged in 2015 after he admittedly stalked Amish children in Lawrence and Mercer County in an attempt to lure them into outhouses near Amish school grounds. He pleaded guilty to stalking and prosecutors dropped a related charge of luring. He was sentenced to three months to two years in that case. Bradley S. Grinnen, 21, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Waynesburg University. Bradley was born on November 5, 1995 in Ellwood City to Deanna Sberna and John Grinnen. He had graduated from the Holy Redeemer Elementary School, and Lincoln High School with the class of 2014 where he was a standout football player and wrestler. Lincoln High Swimmer Receives Gold Medal

Taylor Petrak, a senior swimmer at Lincoln High School won a double gold medal in her MAC Swim Meet, according to Lincoln High’s Twitter page. Saturday, Feb. 11,2017 was the MAC Swimming and Diving Championship hosted by Moon High School and directed by West Allegheny’s coach Bob Miller. “High school swimming is a little bit different than other sports in that you are only permitted to enter two individual events. Ellwood City Graduate Found Dead

An investigation is ongoing after Bradley Grinnen, a graduate of Lincoln Junior-Senior High School was found deceased Sunday morning around 11:22a.m. in a dorm room on the campus of Waynesburg University, the college he was attending. After graduating high school playing both football and wrestling, the 21 year old furthered his football career performing as a junior defensive lineman for the university. The Rev. Baseball Registrations for the Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation

Ellwood City’s summer youth baseball, brought to the community by the Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation, is preparing for their 67th season. Parents can sign their kids ages 4-18 up and registrations are from now until the end of February. Once a widely participated sport, Michael Widmaier, the organizations Vice President stated that they’re lucky if they get over 300 sign ups, which was almost doubled in the past. “The idea of the summer youth baseball program is to promote youth in the community being outgoing and active,” Widmaier said, “were hoping to see a good turn out this year.”…
