Ellwood City Wolves Club Hosts First Meeting Of New Year

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 met on Wednesday at the Connequenessing Country Club. The Club finalized their plans for their next fundraiser: The Golf Bash on Sunday, February 19, 2023. This annual event is held at the Ellwood City Sons of Italy Hall on Lawrence Ave. The event runs from 1:00 -5:00 PM with volunteers needed to help on the floor and in the kitchen. Sharon-based Primary Health Network is offering $30,000 in 2023 academic awards to students pursuing a career in the healthcare or allied health fields. Its PHN Foundation (PHNCF) believes that we must invest in our own future – the future of healthcare. PHNCF must ensure that there will always be well-trained doctors, nurses, technicians and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest quality of care in our health centers. Brayden McClure Wins 3rd Place Medal at Junior High MAC Wrestling

Ellwood City 7th-grader Brayden McClure won a third place medal at the Junior High MAC Wrestling Tournament that was held on Friday, January 6th at Freedom High School. McClure recorded three wins by fall on his way to the championship podium in the 94-pound weight class. The Wolverines Junior High Wrestling team consists of wrestlers, McClure, Cheyene Berglund, Nathan Chandler, Jaiden Delawder, Colten Gullo, and Jordan Quintanilla. Riverside Lions Club Distributes Gifts, Supports Hygiene Helpers This Past Holiday Season

The Riverside Lions Club was busy during the holiday season. With the support of Project Homefront the club was able to distribute toys to five different locations in our area just in time for Christmas. The club distributed them to Riverside Elementary School, Perry Elementary, North Side Kindergarten, Central Valley School, and Divine Grace Social Services. Wolf Outlines Efforts to Combat Human Trafficking, Offers Survivor Resources, Encourages Public to Learn & Act

Harrisburg, PA – Executives from the Pennsylvania departments of Transportation (PennDOT) Health (DOH), Labor and Industry (L&I), and Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), and the Office of Victim Advocate were joined by other advocates today to discuss human trafficking, outline efforts to combat it, explain how to report potential cases, and offer resources for survivors. Human trafficking is the exploitation of people using force, fraud, or coercion for the purposes of commercial sex, forced labor, or domestic servitude. Junior Joseph Roth scored a season high 42 points Friday night as the Wolverines routed Freedom 73-39 at Lincoln High School. The big man help propel Ellwood City to an early 18-10 lead with eleven first quarter points. Roth settled in with 18 points at halftime as the Wolverine held a comfortable 32-20 advantage over the Bulldogs.
