HARRISBURG, Oct. 24 – State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, announced the Salvation Army will be able to make $1.4 million in improvements to Camp Allegheny, Wayne Township, Lawrence County, thanks to a $225,000 Commonwealth Financing Authority award that Gibbons secured this week.
“The camp plays host for adventures of all ages, children to senior citizens. The camp is a vital part of our community and I know this state investment in camp activities will provide fun-filled opportunities, spiritual growth and lifetime memories,” Gibbons said.
Gibbons said the Salvation Army is planning improvements to the 110-acre campground which offers recreational programs for the public.
“I am so proud of the outstanding work the Salvation Army is doing to upgrade fields, rivers, and woods that would allow us better access to nature. As chairman of the House Tourism and Recreational Development Committee, I am proud of the tourism industry in my district and across Pennsylvania. With this funding, Camp Allegheny can upgrade its recreational services for the public,” Gibbons said.
Gibbons said improvements include updating the dining hall kitchen, shingle replacement to cabins, enhancements to the infirmary and pool house as well as bathroom renovations.in the cabins. Also included in the upgrade plan is replacement of bleachers in the campfire circle and improvements to the swinging bridge.
The CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the state Department of Community and Economic Development to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages. It funds programs and investments that assist in the state’s economic growth.
These are the things that Jaret brings to this district over and over again only to be forgotten by the voters of this district come election time. SMH in disgust at we the people !
