Lawrence County Children & Youth Services to Host Fourth Community Care for Kids Mobile Health Clinic

NEW CASTLE, PA — Lawrence County Children & Youth Services (CYS) will host its fourth Community Care for Kids Clinic on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lawrence County Children & Youth Services office, located at 1001 E. Washington Street in New Castle.

The mobile health clinic connects children and families served by CYS with healthcare providers, services, and resources in one convenient setting. The event is part of CYS’s ongoing effort to help children in care and their families establish connections with healthcare providers and address important health, safety, and wellness needs.

Lawrence County CYS is partnering with UPMC to bring several healthcare resources directly to participating families, including the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Ronald McDonald House, Golden Onsite Dental, and the UPMC dental team. New this year, New Castle Eyecare will join the clinic to provide free vision screenings to participating clients.

Over the past several years, the Community Care for Kids Clinic has helped foster parents and kinship families connect with primary care physicians and dental providers. The addition of vision screenings expands the clinic’s services to include eyecare, giving families an opportunity to address multiple areas of children’s healthcare during one event.

The 2026 clinic will also provide families with important safety resources and education. Medical lockboxes will be distributed to participating families, and safe sleep education will be available to promote safe sleep practices for infants and young children.

“Community Care for Kids is about bringing resources directly to the families we serve and helping them build lasting connections with healthcare providers,” said John Bout, Director of Lawrence County Children & Youth Services. “We are grateful to our community partners for helping us expand this clinic each year and for their commitment to improving the health, safety, and well-being of children in Lawrence County.”

The Community Care for Kids Clinic reflects Lawrence County CYS’s commitment to partnering with healthcare providers and community organizations to ensure that children and families have access to services that support their health, safety, and overall well-being.
