ECASD Calls For Special Meeting To Discuss LCCTC Budget

In a Public Notice made available by the district, the Ellwood City Area Board of School Directors will meet on July 8th to discuss the LCCTC budget.

The notice reads as below:

A Special Meeting of the Ellwood City Area School District Board of School Directors will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria at Lincoln High School, 501 Crescent Avenue, 81wood City, PA 16117.

The purpose of the Special Meeting is the LCCTC Budget and any other lawful business that may come before the Board.

Also, effective July 31 , 2026 a vacancy exists on the Board of School Directors of the Ellwood City Area School District.

In accordance with School Laws of Pennsylvania, the remaining members of the Board intend to fill the vacancy at a public meeting on Monday, August 3, 2026. The individual appointed will serve until December of 2027.

In addition to being a current resident of the District. Section 322 of the Public School Code of 1949 as amended limits the eligibility to “Any citizen of this Commonwealth, having a good moral character, being eighteen (18) years of age or upwards, and having been a resident of the district for at least one (1) year, prior to the date of his/her election or appointmenl”

There are further limitations relating lo those who hold other governmental offices or positions in the School District.

Eligible individuals interested in being considered for this vacant office should send a resume and letter of interest by 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026 addressed to the Ellwood City Area School District Board of School Directors, c/o Superintendent, 501 Crescent Avenue, Ellwood City, PA 16117 by mail (postmarked by July 16), hand delivered, or email to aanderson@ecasdk12.org.

Each new candidate may be interviewed in a public meeting to be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Lincoln High School Board Room. The Board intends to appoint the new director to fill the current vacancy at the August 3″ meeting.
