The Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food & Entertainment Festival is proud to recognize Peter “Pete” Greco for his outstanding dedication, leadership, and nearly three decades of service to one of our community’s most treasured traditions.
Pete’s Festival journey began in 1989 when he was recruited by longtime Festival Chairman Tom Martz to join the committee. What started as a volunteer opportunity quickly grew into a lasting commitment that would span more than twenty-five years and leave a significant mark on the Festival’s success.
Throughout his years of service, Pete became known for his reliability, work ethic, and willingness to take on whatever task was needed. Alongside fellow committee member Dom Viccari, Pete served as Parking Co-Chair, helping manage one of the Festival’s largest logistical operations. Their leadership and attention to detail helped ensure that thousands of visitors could safely and efficiently enjoy the Festival each year.
Pete’s dedication and leadership earned him the position of Festival Chairman, serving in 2013 and 2014. During his tenure, he guided the Festival through a period of continued growth while maintaining the family-friendly atmosphere and community spirit that have defined the event since its beginning. As Chairman, Pete worked closely with committee members, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, entertainers, and local organizations to ensure that every aspect of the Festival operated smoothly and successfully.
Those who worked alongside Pete knew him as a responsible, strong, steady leader who led by example. He was never afraid to roll up his sleeves, solve problems, and support fellow volunteers. His commitment extended far beyond meetings and planning sessions; Pete was a familiar presence throughout Festival week, helping wherever he was needed and ensuring that visitors, vendors, and volunteers had a positive experience.
After the 2015 Festival, Pete stepped down from his leadership role, concluding approximately twenty-seven years of dedicated service to the organization. His contributions helped strengthen the Festival and preserve it for future generations of Ellwood City residents and visitors.
For his years of commitment, leadership, volunteer service, and unwavering dedication to the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food & Entertainment Festival, Pete Greco is a most deserving inductee into the Festival Hall of Fame.
Congratulations, Pete, and thank you for helping build and sustain one of Ellwood City’s greatest traditions.
