POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT:
Girard Kullen, 59, of Beaver Falls is charged with theft after an incident occurring on January 20th. Police were informed that Kullen had stolen jewelry for a residence on Spring Avenue, Ellwood City, and sold it to Treasure Hunt in Cranberry Township for a profit of $200,000.00 according to a criminal complaint. Kullen was interviewed by Ellwood City Police and admitted to removing the victim’s jewelry without her permission the report relates.

BURGLARY:
According to a police report, and on April 21st at approximately 2:22 a.m., PSP New Castle was alerted of a burglary at the Wampum Dollar General located on Route 18 in Wampum Boro. The report relates the store was broken into and three (3) packs of Newport Cigarettes were taken. This investigation is ongoing.

SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Daniel Tropf, 47, and Maria Wright, 36, both of Ellwood City are each charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident occurring on May 2nd. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 2:00 a.m., police were dispatched to residence on Hazel Avenue for a report of fight. Officers arrived and interviewed Tropf who advised that he and several other persons were hanging out and drinking at the residence when Wright’s boyfriend arrived. A fight ensued after Tropf mentioned previous actions that had happened between Tropf, Wright, and Tropf’s girlfriend when Wright’s boyfriend was absent. The fight ended in physical assault involving a knife, an injury to Tropf’s ear leaving a large flap of skin hanging off, and with Tropf to have been reported to strike Wright in the face according to the complaint.

SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Dante Grymes, 20, and Noah Betley, 21, both of Wampum, and Timothy Keul, 22, of Ellwood City are each charged with counts of Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident occurring on March 13th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 11:59 p.m., police were informed through investigation with a victim that three defendants physically assaulted the victim by shoving and striking him at a residence on Oswald Street, Wayne Township. The victim also advised that they had broken his nose in a fight as the victim was attempting to leave a bonfire according to the complaint.

SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Brandon Tillia, 18, of Ellwood City is charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident occurring on May 13th. According to a criminal complaint police were dispatched to a residence on Franklin Avenue regarding a domestic dispute at a residence on Franklin Avenue. The victim advised that an argument had begun and Tillia had began to throw things at her, as well as pinning her to the bed so she was unable to move according to the complaint. The victim was found with visible red marks/abrasions on her upper chest and a screen door broken after Tillia ripped it off in anger before leaving the report relates. Tillia arrived back on scene and police were able to place him under arrest.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS:
Michael Antonini, 33, of New Castle, is charged with public drunkenness after an incident occurring on March 8th at approximately 3:51 a.m. Police were dispatched to 3208 US Highway 422 Sheetz due to Antonini playing loud music from his vehicle with the door open while solicitating at a gas pump. Officers observed Antonini to be heavily intoxicated according to a criminal complaint.

CARELESS DRIVING:
Xavier McCracken, 18, of Ellwood City is charged with careless driving after an incident occurring on May 3rd at approximately 2:49 a.m. Police attempted to catch McCracken after he “peeled rubber” in the intersection of Fifth Street and Fountain Avenue but lost him during the chase that led police into Ellport Borough . Officers had eventually made contact with McCracken at a friends house where he admitted to evading police and being the driver of the vehicle according to a criminal complaint.
