Mason Holler rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as Riverside beat Freedom 37-7 on homecoming.
Isabella Hall was named Riverside Homecoming Queen at halftime.
Wideout Hunter Garcia hauled in five receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown to spark the Panthers offense. Garcia opened up the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run as part of his two-touchdown evening.
After the visiting Bulldogs knotted the score at seven in the second quarter, Panther quarterback Aiden Gaydosz connected with Garcia on a 44-yard scoring strike with less than a minute in the half to push Riverside ahead 14-7 at halftime.
Gaydosz added two rushing touchdowns – one in the third and one in the fourth – sandwiched around Hollers second rushing touchdown in the third quarter as Riverside stretched its advantage to 35-7.
Holler hauled the ball 26 times for Riverside offensively. Gaydosz finished 9-14 passing for 114 yards and a touchdown, finding five different Panthers receivers in the victory.
Defensively, Tanner Richards recorded two sacks and Tyler Richards recorded another sack for Riverside. Holler recorded an interception, and Karter Brown collected a defensive safety for the Panthers defensive that limited the Bulldogs to only 16 net yards passing.
Riverside (4-3, 3-1 Section 2A-2) will next travel across the mighty Connoqunessing for a Riv-Ell match-up against Ellwood City on Friday. Kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
