Ellwood City Historical Society New Membership Drive

The Ellwood City Historical Society at its monthly board meeting, Andy Kindle, Ways and Means Chairman, suggested to the board that it hold a Membership Drive for new members.

Kindle stated that the Ellwood City Chamber of commerce is planning over 20 activities this summer.

Kindle said it is an opportunity for the Historical Society to promote a membership program. He also stated that starting now gives the society the rest of 2024 to promote membership to the community.

The idea of giving free membership for the six months of 2024 and then only collecting a membership fee for the year 2025 was accepted by the board. The new History Society member will receive all the benefits of the society for 18 months. (July, August, September, October, November, December 2024, and 12 months of 2025.) The individual membership is $10.00 per year and the family membership is $25.00 per year.

The new members will receive a monthly newsletter, and have the opportunity to attend meetings ( September through May). Our monthly meetings provide knowledge and interest in our community. The John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh provides to the Society free passes for four people to visit. The Ellwood City History Center is open four days a week and the membership is welcome to visit any time.

“The 18-month membership drive provides a great time to join and find out our local history, and how it is being protected and preserved for future generations,” says Kindle.

The Society is dedicated to preservation of local historical resources, as well as the education of both members and the public.

Membership is a great gift that can keep on giving through out the year.

We welcome you to, “come home to Ellwood City.”
