Sophomore Elijah Palmer-McCaine rushed for another 115 yards and two touchdowns for the host Wolverines, but it was not enough to overcome a Tigers aerial attack as Ellwood City was defeated 42-13 Friday night at Helling Stadium in a WPIAL Class 2A Midwestern Conference game.

Brooke is the daughter of Kristan and Jeffrey Roth. She is a member of the Varsity Girls’ Basketball team and belongs to the Ellwood City Culture Club, Spanish Club, and Senior High Student Council. An honor student, Brooke is also a member of the National Honor Society. Brooke plans to attend a 4-year university and pursue a career as a Physician’s Assistant.
During game action, Beaver Falls quarterback Jaren Brickner collected 262 passing yards and tossed three touchdowns, all collected by wideout Richard Singleton as the Tigers remained unbeaten (7-1 overall) on the season.
Beaver Falls jumped out to an early 22-0 lead before Ellwood City could get on the scoreboard. Palmer-McCaine’s second rushing touchdown, a 4 yard scamper in the third quarter, made the score 28-13, but the Wolverines could get no closer in the contest.
Ellwood City (2-6 overall) next travels to play Neshannock on Friday before returning home for its second home game, a Senior Night tilt versus rival Riverside on Friday, October 28, 2022.
The Riverside Panthers were shutout 42-0 by the Lancers on Friday dropping their regular season record to 3-4 on the season.
