United Fund Update: Short of Fundraising Goal

The Ellwood City United Fund is still short of its fundraising goal, says Andrew Kindle, treasurer of the United Fund.

The United Fund campaign started on October 1, 2019, Kindle reports that as of November 15, 2019 the total contributions received are $16, 900.00 which equates to about 30 percent below the goal set for this time period. The annual goal set by the board in October is for $50,000. The board hopes that the community will step up to the plate by giving contributions so the communities needs may be met.

The United Fund provides funds through out the year for service agencies that support the community. Funds go to:

  • People-in-Need.
  • Ellwood City Public Library
  • City Rescue Mission.
  • Ellwood Family Center
  • LARK Enterprises.
  • Human Services
  • Boy & Girl Scouts.
  • Lincoln Education Foundation

All agencies are in need of funding and are experiencing reductions in funding from state and local governments.

“This why the United Fund is important,” says Kindle. “Because it sometimes can fill shortfalls and ease the burden of loss funds.”

Your help and donations are needed now, whether large or small they directly benefit those in our community. All donations are tax-deductible. Give to your home town – take time to care for your friends, family, and the community.

All donations can be sent to ELLWOOD City United Fund, Post Office Box 174, Ellwood City, Pa. 16117…….“Thank you for Caring”
