The Lady Wolverines put together a solid effort and defeated Shenango on Tuesday afternoon at Stiefel Park by a score of 10-0. The game was shortened to 5 innings due to the mercy rule.

Mihalko would reach third on an infield single by Cassidy Crepp and would score on a wild pitch. Crepp scored on a single up the middle by Paige Wearing. Back to back hit batsmen to Joy Hudspath and Bree Falesnik loaded the bases and Crepp would score the game’s final run on a walk to Aaliyah Kinney. Nardone struck out the side in the fifth and that was all she wrote.
Nardone got the W in the circle as she tossed a one-hitter over 4 innings. She struck out six and walked two. Aliya Garroway added an inning of no-hit pitching with 2 punch outs and no walks.
The defense was fantastic once again as they played error-free ball for the second consecutive game. Nardone and second baseman Rozanski each threw out two baserunners at first base. Second baseman Falesnik made a nice play ranging far to her left to retire a runner at first. Third baseman Chloe Duncan made the play of the game as she made a fine catch on a grounder headed for the hole and fired a strike to first for the out. Catcher Hicks gunned down the only base runner that attempted to steal. First baseman Wearing also fielded a grounder for an out.
The young ladies will look for win number 10 on Thursday as they head to Neshannock to face the Lancers. First pitch is set for 6pm.
