The Lawrence County Travel Club is inviting community members to explore the world together as they prepare for their next international adventure to Portugal, scheduled for November 2–11, 2027.
Launched in 2025, the Lawrence County Travel Club was created by Forward Lawrence to give the community the opportunity to experience the world without taking on the heavy lift of coordinating and planning. The program is open to the entire community, and Chamber membership is not required to participate.
The Travel Club completed its inaugural trip in March 2026, taking travelers to Rome and the scenic countryside of Tuscany, Italy. Following the success of its first international adventure, Forward Lawrence is once again partnering with Collette, North America’s longest-running, major guided tour travel operator, to offer a curated 10-day journey through Portugal. Collette expertly navigates the convenience of organized accommodations, transportation, guided tours, excursions, and allowing participants to focus on enjoying their experience, avoiding the hassles and logistics of international travel.
The upcoming trip will take travelers through some of Portugal’s most beautiful destinations, including Lisbon, Alentejo, the Algarve, and the Portuguese Riviera. Travelers will have the opportunity to experience the country’s rich history, coastal landscapes, local cuisine, and culture while enjoying the convenience of a professionally organized travel experience.
To introduce the upcoming trip, the Lawrence County Travel Club will host a free informational session on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. at VentiSei in New Castle. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Portugal itinerary, ask questions, and meet others interested in traveling. Charcuterie will be provided. There is no obligation to book a trip, and the informational session is open to anyone interested in learning more. That’s part of what makes this program so special. So much of our everyday lives revolves around phones and screens, and I think we sometimes forget how important it is to disconnect. The Travel Club is an intentional way to step away from our daily routines and make genuine connections with people in our community.”
