Riverside Panthers Fall to Knoch After Sixth Inning Score

Riverside Panthers varsity baseball battled to tie their ball game late, but failed to hold the tie score int he sixth inning, surrendering two runs in a 4-2 defeat to Knoch on Wednesday at Pullman Park in Butler.

The game was tied at two with Knoch batting in the bottom of the sixth when Gunnar Boehm’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Knoch.

Riverside lost despite out-hitting Knoch six to three.

Andy Pipes was the winning pitcher for Knoch. He went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out one. Jack Bartek threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Boehm took the loss for the Panthers. He surrendered two runs on one hit over two innings.

Gavin Phillips started the game for Knoch. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out four. Danny Fox started the game for Riverside. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out four.

Ethan Ziegler, Ty Thellman, Boehm, Austin Dambach, Brian MacMurdo, and Fox each collected one hit to lead Riverside.

Isaac Love went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Knoch in hits. Knoch was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ben McMillen had the most chances in the field with seven.
