Joseph “Joe” R. Raman, 87

Mr. Joseph “Joe” R. Raman, 87, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 at the UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Mr. Raman was born in Ellwood City on April 5th, 1939 to the late William and Nad Lena (Regna) Raman Sr.. He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1957. Over the years Joe worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill, Koppel Steel, and Halstead Industries. He is a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, and an active member of Camp Lease Associates out of Grand Valley, PA. An outdoorsman, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and playing baseball and softball. In the past Joe had been a Pony League Coach with the Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation.

He is survived by his daughter Cynthia (Todd) Minto Rossman of Wrangell, Alaska, sons Richard (Linda) Raman of Castle Pines, Colorado and John W. Raman of Ellwood City, grandchildren Daniel Raman, Logan Minto, and Gabriella Minto, and sisters Janet Betteridge of Rochester, New York and Virginia Straley of Wampum.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda L. (Smeltz) Raman whom he married on September 23rd, 1961 and passed away on April 20th, 2018, sister Angeline Plutko, brothers William Raman Jr. and Patsy Raman, step-brother Samuel Aleuso, and brothers-in-law Mel Straley and Ron Betteridge.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 29th, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of the Blessing Service at 11:00 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Entombment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, St. Peter’s Mausoleum.
