Borough of Ellwood City Seeking Volunteers To Help Beautify Ellwood City

The Borough of Ellwood City is proud to present Beautify Ellwood City as part of the 2026 Pick Up Pennsylvania Campaign.

The borough is seeking volunteers to help clean up Lawrence Avenue and 5th Street leading up to all the summer fun that will be taking place in town this summer. The borough is also seeking people with a green thumb to help plant the traditional flowers around the municipal building.

Help Beautify Ellwood City will take place Friday May 15, 2026 (rain date May 20th).

Those interested are asked to gather in front of the Municipal Building for a 9:00 a.m. start time. Volunteers are asked to come when available and stay as long as you are able to help.

PennDot has supplied gloves, vests and garbage bags for the clean up day.

“We are looking forward to all of the activities that will be taking place in Ellwood City over the summer! We want to be sure to put our best foot forward by showcasing our business district,” says Secretary of Public Works Rhiannon Schnell.

“We are looking forward to bringing our community together to make Ellwood City shine!”

If you would like to participate or have any questions, please email rschnell@ellwoodcityborough.com

Registration is not required, however it is helpful to know how many volunteers are to be expected so that the borough can be prepared. The Pick Up Pennsylvania Campaign is Pennsylvania’s Largest Community Improvement Program
