Arise Lawrence County welcomed community members to its annual fundraising Bingo event on February 22 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle. This established tradition drew hundreds in support of individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent crimes.
The event serves as one of the organization’s primary fundraisers, helping sustain critical services for survivors throughout Lawrence County. The date of the event may shift from year to year, but the mission remains the same: ensuring that residents have access to safety, support, and long-term stability.
Funds raised from the Bingo event directly support a range of life-changing services, including emergency shelter, trauma-informed counseling, therapy programs, survivor programs, legal and medical advocacy services, and prevention education. These resources allow Arise Lawrence County to respond quickly to urgent needs while also addressing long-term recovery and community prevention.
Arise expressed appreciation for the strong turnout, noting that community participation plays an important role in maintaining these essential programs.
“Every person who attends, donates, or volunteers helps make it possible for survivors to receive the services and support they need,” Emily Switzer, Education and Outreach Coordinator, shared. “It’s the community’s commitment that allows us to continue offering these services.”
Arise Lawrence County encourages county residents to stay involved throughout the year through volunteer opportunities, awareness events, and other fundraisers. For more information, please contact Emily Switzer at eswitzer@ariselc.org.
