Kick off December with a series of events inspired to get visitors in the holiday spirit.
First, on Thursday, December 4th, Wampum Borough will host its “Light Up the Town” spectacle from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The event will feature lighting of luminaries, free hot chocolate and fresh baked cookies, carriage rides, and visitors can finish off the night with fireworks! The Light Up the Town event is presented by The Wampum Area Businesses Association (WABA)
The next evening, Ellwood City will host its “Let There Be Lights” function in downtown Ellwood City on Friday, December 5th.
Live entertainment will take place from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the plaza and on Lawrence Avenue and fireworks will be set off behind the plaza after the tree lighting! Vendors of all kinds will be set up from 4th street through 6th street, along with horse drawn carriage rides from Misty Lane Farms.
Continuing the holiday magic, Lawrence Avenue fills with festive floats and joyful marchers for the annual Ellwood City Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 5th beginning at 3:00 p.m. Participants gather at Holy Redeemer School & 3rd Street by 2:30 p.m., whether they’re bringing vehicles, float groups, or walking with family and friends. Kids under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. It’s a parade full of holiday spirit, creativity, and community cheer.

This is to the organizers of the Ellwood CIty Light-up Night.
NEXT YEAR – You really need to define exactly when the tree will be “lighted”. Everything that was published said it would be at 7:30. It was 19 degrees. Wife and I were closer to the back of the “mall”. Nobody in the back could hear, much less see the people that were singing. We witness entire groups of people leaving, with their children, because they expected the tree lighting to be AT 7:30 PM – Not at 8:00 PM. We had warm clothes and it was really cold. The fireworks were great and the tree was beautiful. PLEASE – next year, Nail-down the time of the tree lighting
