Carl Koziar, 67, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 art UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Carl was born in Ellwood City on November 5th, 1956 to the late George and Charlotte (McClelland) Koziar. He had graduated from Riverside High School and later from Capital Campus of Penn State University in August of 1978. Carl was a hard worker. He became a millwright welder in the maintenance department at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill. He then worked at the Alaron Corporation as operations manager. It is with complete sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Bonnie M. Poff, 77 of Franklin Township, on December 31st, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Mrs. Poff was born on October 20th, 1946 in Calumet, Pennsylvania to Frank and Zethel (Weightman) Emanuel. She graduated from Hurst (Mt. Pleasant) High School and from Indiana University where she earned her master’s degree in Elementary Education, which was where she met her husband, Mike. Registration is open for 2024 Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation spring baseball and continues through February 11th. Register early and take advantage of volunteer fee discount Six levels of league play are Tee Ball (age 4-6), Farm (age 7-8), Minor (age 9-10), Little League (age 11-12), Pony League (age 13-24), and Colt League (age 15-17). Josephine Bunney, 88

Josephine Bunney, 88, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at her residence. Born in Ellwood City on April 29, 1935, Josephine was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Maria Purinna Pasquale.  She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Bunney, Sr. whom she married on September 16, 1957.  Josephine had retired as a cafeteria worker at Lincoln High School.  She was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church and the Christian Mothers of the Church.  Josephine enjoyed cooking and doing puzzles but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and…
