Josephine Bunney, 88

Josephine Bunney, 88, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at her residence.

Born in Ellwood City on April 29, 1935, Josephine was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Maria Purinna Pasquale.  She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Bunney, Sr. whom she married on September 16, 1957.  Josephine had retired as a cafeteria worker at Lincoln High School.  She was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church and the Christian Mothers of the Church.  Josephine enjoyed cooking and doing puzzles but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Josephine is survived by her seven children, Thomas and Claudine Bunney, Jr. of Fombell, Dave and Karla Bunney of Jackson, TN, Don and Luisa Bunney of Ellwood City, Jody and Michelle Bunney of Bells, TN, Jenny and Joe Weisz of Ellwood City, Renee and Drew Latsko of Chippewa and Rick and April Bunney of Marion, IA, 26 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a sister, Rose Hahn of New Castle and two brothers, Albert Pasquale of Ellport and Joseph Pasquale of Zephyrhills, FL.

Besides her parents Josephine was preceded in death by a son, James Bunney, two sisters, Antonette Pogozelec and Jennie Bartolomeo and three brothers, Theodore, Lawrence and Anthony Pasquale.

Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 4 to 7 P.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 11:00AM at Holy Redeemer Church with Father Joe Freedy officiating.

Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum.

Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church at to form the Honor Guard.
