Stonecrest Business Park Receives $1M Improvement Funds Grant

New Beaver Borough, PA — The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recently announced the award of up to $1,000,000 in Transportation Infrastructure Improvement Funds (TIIF) to Stonecrest Business Park for transportation improvements in New Beaver Borough, Lawrence County.

These infrastructure enhancements support the growth and accessibility of the Stonecrest Business Park site, which is set to become a significant hub for commercial and industrial development in the southern portion of Lawrene County.

The allocated TIIF funds will be used for the following key projects:

  1. Roadway Widening and Turn Lane Installation on S.R. 18: The project will involve the widening of S.R. 18 and the installation of dedicated northbound and southbound turning lanes. These improvements are essential to accommodate the anticipated increase in vehicular traffic to and from the Stonecrest Business Park, L.P. site.
  2. Stormwater Culvert Installation: New stormwater culverts will be installed at and around the entrance of the Stonecrest Business Park, L.P. site along S.R. 18. This project aims to manage stormwater efficiently, ensuring the safety and longevity of the infrastructure.
  3. Intersection Signalization: A new intersection will be created at the entrance of the Stonecrest and traffic flow.

These improvements are a critical component of providing highway access from S.R. 18 to the Stonecrest Business Park development, which will open up 110 acres of new developable land. The site is designed to accommodate up to 1,500,000 square feet of commercial and industrial space and is projected to support up to 1,000 new family-sustaining jobs upon full buildout.

Expressing his deep appreciation for the grant and its expected impact on the community, John LaCarte, CEO of Stonecrest Business Park, stated:

“We are immensely grateful to be awarded Transportation Infrastructure Investment Funds to support the required State Route 18 improvements at the Stonecrest Business Park. The significant support our project has received is testament to the strong commitment of Governor Shapiro to make Pennsylvania an economic leader. Moreover, it is an example of the focus of DCED Secretary Rick Siger and PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll to prioritize the development of shovel ready sites to attract new businesses and create more jobs within the Commonwealth.”

“We are truly appreciative of the Commonwealth’s investment here in Lawrence County. This project has been the shining example of a public private partnership from the local and County tax incentives to the investment from the Commonwealth and LaCarte Development. This project will help to solidify the economic competitiveness of Lawrence County,” stated Ben Bush, Executive Director of Forward Lawrence Chamber and Economic Alliance.
