Justin Hand End College Golf Career With 2nd Straight Academic All-American Honor

Justin Hand was among five golf standouts from Tiffin University to be named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for the 2023-24 season.

The 6’0″ senior and Riverside High School graduate earned a major in Accounting at Tiffin. He graduated from Tiffin University on May 4th Magna Cum Laude and started his MBA Program in Data Analytics at Tiffin University on May 14th. He is the son of Bill and Michelle.

Hand turns in a decorated collegiate golfing career, finishing as a two-time Academic All-American and was a four-year starter on the Dragons men’s golf team.

Hand tied the Tiffin University school 18 Hole Record in 2021 that now stands as the 3rd best 18 hole round in school history. He helped the 2022 Tiffin Golf Team win the G-Mac Conference Title and helped the 2023 Tiffin Golf Team finish 2nd in the G-Mac Conference Title.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate’s Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

227 NCAA Division II athletes from 77 schools earned 2023-24 Cobalt All-America Scholar honors. Missouri S&T had six recipients, tied with Georgia Southern, Mercer, Texas Tech, Yale (NCAA Division I), Trine (NCAA Division III), and Texas Wesleyan (NAIA) for the most recipients from one school across all six divisions in 2023-24. Nine NCAA Division II schools had at least five recipients, including Lincoln Memorial (5), Maryville (5), Missouri S&T (6), Newberry (5), Parkside (5), Saint Leo (5), SWOSU (5), Tiffin (5), and Wingate (5).
