The membership at Delmar Golf Course is pleased to announce that Lincoln High School Senior Colten Crizer has been chosen to receive the 2024 Jack Ferrante Delmar Golf Course Scholarship.
“It is with great satisfaction that we recognize the efforts of Colten Crizer both inside and outside of the classroom. Colten is currently a member and employee of Delmar Golf Course and we are proud of all of his accomplishments. He has made an impact inside and outside of LHS. We are excited to watch him continue to do so as member of the Slippery Rock University track and field team,” said Geoffrey Bokor, scholarship committee member, in an e-mailed statement.
Academically, Colten maintained a 3.9 GPA and has served the last two years as the Class of 2024 treasurer. Athletically, Colten has been a starting member and co-captain of the Ellwood City golf, basketball, cross country and track and field teams. Most recently collecting the WPIAL championship gold medal in the 800 meters. Colten is set to compete in the PIAA State championships this weekend.
The yearly scholarship recognizes the dedication and commitment of the late Jack Ferrante, a longtime greenkeeper and professional at the course.
The $1,000 Ferrante Scholarship is funded by the membership of Delmar Golf Course and its yearly golf outing. This scholarship recognizes the efforts and contributions of a graduating senior of Ellwood City high school golf programs.
