Broc Boariu, 19, of Ellwood City, hit a hole-in-one Sunday at Delmar Golf Course. This particular hole-in-one was rare in so much it was collected on a Par 4 – the 325-yard, Hole 6 at the course.
“I didn’t see it go in so I was looking for it for around 10-15 minutes,” said Boariu. “We checked the hole and it was there.”
Boariu, who was playing in a foursome with Sam Barry Jr., Gino Bellissimo, and Chad Reed, hit driver from the tee box.
“That was my first hole in one and the closest I’ve ever come was probably about 3 feet.”
According to its website, Delmar features tree-lined fairways, fast-rolling greens, and a blend of long and short par 4’s, challenging par 3’s and reachable par 5’s.
“My favorite part of the experience was just never thinking I’d ever get one and just going crazy when it actually happened, feeling the excitement was indescribable,” concluded Boariu.
