Thomas R. Dwyer, 77

Thomas R. Dwyer, 77, of Ellwood City, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024 from ongoing health issues.

He was born in Ellwood City on May 26, 1946 to the late George and Alberta Geary Dwyer.  Thomas was a talented gymnast at Riverside High School where he graduated from.  He loved racing dirt bikes and helping his late uncle Harold Geary at Geary’s Cycle Center.

For 50 years, Tom build and maintained the Field and Stream Acres Mobile Home Park.  He had a vision for this park which he brought to life by giving tenants a quiet piece of land to enjoy.  Tom also enjoyed sharing stories of his time spent working at B&W Steel.

Throughout the years Tom enjoyed recreational softball, bowling, hunting, Pittsburgh sports, classic car cruises, Chevy Chase movies and morning coffees with his buddies.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 23 years, Anita Dwyer.  They married on their farm in Knox, PA on May 26, 2001.  They spent much of their time mowing fields, bailing hay and taking care of the cows.

He is also survived by one brother, Ronald (Jessie) Dwyer of North Sewickley Twp., son Rodney (Beth) of Ellwood City, daughter Tracy Dwyer of Fombell, stepdaughter Jennifer (Patrick) Schropp of Ellwood City, stepson Mike Johnson of Ellwood City, three grandchildren Zoe, Caleb and Chase along with several nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind his four-legged friend Sophie.

Thomas is preceded in death by two brothers Harold and George.  Also, a great niece Bailey Dwyer and his three furry companions Homer, Bart and Lucy.

Per his wishes there will be no public visitation or service.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Lillyville Church of God in Ellwood City, PA or the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, PA.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.
