Borough of Ellwood City Holding Its Annual Community Garden Poster Contest

The Department of Public Works would like to invite all children between the ages of 4-12 to participate in our Poster Contest!

If you have visited our Community Garden at 5 points, you may have noticed the picture boards on the borough utility shed. Those pictures have been up for a year and it’s time to refresh the drawings on the shed! This is a chore best accomplished by tiny hands and big hearts. The shed needs a little color and a lot of happy artwork to keep it looking bright!

“The coloring contest is a fun way to get the smallest of our residents involved in our community,” says Kevin Swogger, Borough Manager. “It’s very exciting to look through all of the entries and see our community through the eyes of the children. I look forward to seeing their creativity and I am proud to sponsor prizes for the winners again this year.”

Here are the details:

Open to all children between the ages of 4-12 years old that reside in the Borough of Ellwood City
One winning design will be chosen from each age group (4-6, 7-9, 10-12) for a total of 3 winning designs
The winning artists will have their artwork prominently displayed in the community garden
The winning artists will also receive a special prize of $50.00 each

Official poster contest forms can be picked up by visiting the Borough Electric office at the Municipal Building. All submissions must be turned in by dropping them off at the Municipal Building or mailing them in no later than April 12, 2024.
