Ralph F. “Fred” Tritt, 83

Mr. Ralph F. “Fred” Tritt, 83, of Frisco passed away on Monday, February 19th, 2024 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

Mr. Tritt was born in Ellwood City on July 26th, 1940 to the late Ralph L. and Jean (Funkhouser) Tritt. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1959 and the First Church of God. Fred enlisted with the United States Army on March 5th, 1962 and served until his honorable discharge on March 4th, 1965 with the rank of SP4. He was awarded the Expert Marksman and Good Conduct Medals. For a brief time Fred worked at the Babcock and Wilcox Steel Mill in Koppel. He then joined his father and brothers in the family business, Tritt’s Upholstery, which was located on Fountain Avenue in Ellwood City. When the shop closed he worked for Ferrante Upholstery in Wampum and later at his own shop at his home. Fred is a life member of the Wurtemburg-Perry Volunteer Fire Department and a longtime volunteer and head usher at his church.

He is survived by his wife Sharon (Welch) Tritt whom he married on May 27th, 1966, son Ralph “Fred” Tritt, Jr. of Frisco, grandchildren Jacob (Katelynn) Tritt, Cullen Tritt, and Reagen Tritt, great-grandchildren Hunter, Hayden, Elijah, Gabriella, and Walker Tritt, sisters Myrnice Kennedy of Ellwood City, Karen Ries of Ellwood City, and Debby Tritt of Jefferson Hills, and brothers Bill (Cheryl) Tritt of Ellwood City, Chuck (Kay) Tritt of New Brighton, John (Faith) Tritt of Beaver Falls, and Tom (Joyce) Tritt of O’Fallan, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bob Tritt.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Pastor Phil Conklin and Pastor John Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Slippery Rock Cemetery. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the funeral home on Friday by 10:50 am to conduct full military honors.
