William “Bill” L. Atkinson Jr., 80

Mr. William “Bill” L. Atkinson Jr. of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, February 11th, 2024 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a 3-year illness.

William was born in New Castle on July 10, 1943 to the late William L. and Margaret (Hinkle) Atkinson Sr.. Bill graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1962 and earned an Associate Degree from the Beaver County Community College. He was employed by the former B&W Steel Mill in the cold draw department, and later by the Ellwood City Area School District as a custodian. Throughout his life he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, tennis, dancing, and touring the Country on his Harley with his wife and friends. His family motto is “Nothing Without Work”.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Margaret (Carrozza) Atkinson, son William L. (Jennifer) Atkinson III, 4 grandchildren- Katie Atkinson (fiancé Roger French), Adam (Marjorie) Defelice, Andrew (Farrah) Defelice, and Jacob (girlfriend Emily) Atkinson, brothers, Ronald (Debbie) Atkinson and Thomas Atkinson and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cheri Atkinson Defelice Cable and sister Darlene Atkinson Carcaise.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 from 2:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 4:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
